WOA started as a online blog by founder Meng to publish and share GA grassroot activities all over Asia. Through his regular business travels around Asia as a jet-setting business consultant, he passionately explores every corner of Asia to meet private aviators and check out flying destinations.

WOA Founder Meng helps purchase a used Cessna 152 from Philippines for Elite Flying Club in Johor, Malaysia, the 1st flying club aircraft in in Johor with advanced GPS avionics. WOA performs first ever aircraft ferry delivery flight, solo from Manila to Peninsula Malaysia (photo right).

Leveraging on his software programming knowledge, Meng transforms WOA into a FREE online community portal frequented by aviator members from all over Asia. This first aviation portal with social interaction functionalities that allowed members to message and share information with each other rapidly bridged the private aviation community across Asia regardless of nationality and race.
Jun2004 WingsOverAsia.com, registers as an online community portal and e-commerce service funded under Meng's privately owned consulting firm - Wings Ventures Pte Ltd, and begins making online advertising revenues. The revenues provided for off-line social activities for private pilots.
2 months earlier in April2004, a social networking website called "Facebook" quietly surfaced within the Harvard University campus.

A freshly minted Singapore Airlines 2nd officer by the name of Nicholas connects with Meng via WingsOverAsia.com and that friendship led Meng to a project that created and launched Airline Pilots Association of Singapore's 1st online portal and internal forum (still in use as of Yr2014). Nicholas is now a Singapore Airlines Captain and remains an avid fan of WOA!

WOA Founder Meng provides sales and marketing support for Thailand's Asian Aerospace Services Ltd (AAS) throughout the setup of AAS's Diamond Aircrafts dealership and on behalf of AAS, signs Asia's very first official customer order for a Jet-fuel powered piston engine aircraft (Diamond DA42). This marks the introduction of Jet-fuel/Diesel powered piston aircraft into Asia.

Jan2006 Granted land lease by Khazanah Nasional Berhad's subsidary in Johor, Malaysia to operate one of Malaysia's first sports aviation airpark concept on 3 acres of land in Bandar Nusajaya, Malaysia. WOA Founder Meng and airline pilot friend Siva (who met Meng in Starbucks and got hooked on the WOA lifestyle vision) raises personal funds and jointly build WOA's very first aircraft hangar to house their flying toys!

First in Asia to break general aviation tradition and enter a new technological era by owning and operating a Piper PA28-161 Warrior aircraft retrofitted with revolutionary Centurion Jet-A fuel driven piston engine.

3 months prior on Sep2006, the online social networking website "Facebook" opened to the public and became a worldwide phenomenon!
Apr2007 WOA debuts its presence in China as the official online media for the 1st China General Aviation Summit in Beijing.

WOA redefines itself online with a major technology platform upgrade by Meng to a fully interactive aviation social networking platform with cutting edge technology, a first in the private aviation world!

WOA becomes an early pioneer in the aviation world in leveraging innovative social media technologies to build an online social networking website and begins it's life as the "Facebook of the Asian private aviation world".

With a vision to grow and enhance support for private aviation, Meng spins off WOA into a separate private entity dedicated to aviation - WingsOverAsia Pte Ltd, to provide professional private aviation services. By now his regular flying buddy, Siva subsequently joins as shareholder in the dedicated aviation entity.

- Asia's first comprehensive private aviation concierge was launched under the brand name ClubWOA!

- Asia's first professionally organized escorted flying tours begins to various South-East Asia destinations

- WingsOverAsia.com remains a FREE social networking online service

- Pilot proficiency workshops, seminars and social networking events commences

WOA provides aircraft delivery service for Diamond Aircrafts and delivers Japan's 1st Jet-fuel powered Diamond DA42-TDI. The delivery flight started in Vienna,Austria and ended in Fukushima,Japan.

WOA co-founds and provides operational management and administrative support for Singapore's first new generation flying club concept (Discovery Flying Club), import Singapore's 1st modern glass cockpit piston aircrafts and helps design flight experience program for UniSIM.

The project forms WOA's 1st general aviation consulting project in Singapore that facilitated MAJ Aviation's maiden foray into the Singapore's general aviation industry.

WOA organizes the inaugural Asia Aviators Gathering attended by aviators from more than 9 Asian countries.

WOA management pilots help complete local airworthiness certification for 13 aircrafts, conducts aircraft familiarization, implement 1xFTD with CAE Tropos Visual and in-house developed an interactive computer-based training cum e-learning software for Singapore Youth Flying Club, Singapore's largest ab-initio flight training organization managed by the Singapore Air Force.

WOA commences flight support operations in Seletar Airfield, Singapore for resident private aircraft owners; innovates airport parking with the design and implementation of optimized and self-managed compact parking concept in collaboration with Changi Airport Group and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, a first in Singapore!
 
WOA's compact parking concept was immediately adopted by the airport for large jets parking as well but WOA remains the only operator "approved for self-powered" aircraft movements "within" a self-managed compact parking area having approved operating procedures.

Daher-Socata delivers Southeast Asia's 1st TBM850 very fast turboprop to WOA member Mr John Giddens at WOA's TBM850 aircraft appreciation day. WOA's founder assisted and flew with the owner in the delivery flight from France to Singapore.

WOA becomes 1st company in Asia to develop in-house and conduct a Garmin G1000 scenario-based glass cockpit training for operators of piston, turbo-prop and jet aircrafts equipped with G1000 integrated avionics.
Apr2011 Opens Thailand country office, with concierge services based out of Bangkok City and an exclusive ClubWOA lounge with flight related operations based at Best Ocean Airpark, amidst a 18-hole golf-course with private villas.

WOA pursues continuous improvements and redesigns it's self-managed code A compact parking area with the approval of Changi Airport Group and Civil Aviation Authority. Phase 2 design was implemented further doubling aircraft parking capacity while maintaining approval for self-powered aircraft movements within WOA's compact parking area meeting ICAO safety standards.

WOA management pilots Meng & Siva becomes the 1st born-and-bred Singaporeans to pilot a "standard equipped (no ferry tanks and no de-ice) single-engine piston light aircraft" across the Atlantic ocean from San Francisco, USA to Singapore; part of an aircraft delivery service for ClubWOA member.

Opens ClubWOA members' only lounge in Seletar Airfield, Singapore next to the airport terminal with full on-demand concierge services. First order of the day was to invite our Malaysian aircraft owner friends over for a cross-straits friendship lunch.
Nov2011 WOA makes history in Thailand general aviation as the first to successfully organize Customs/Immigration/Quanrantine (CIQ) services on-demand at a private airfield facilitating first port-of-entry processes for foreign aircrafts and crew!

WOA awarded and appointed NEW ground handling services license by Changi Airport Group, Singapore. In traditional WOA grass-root and low-key style, the agreement was inked over a humble fish and chips lunch (see photo right) at Changi Airport terminal with the General Manager of Changi Airport Terminal.

WOA receives operational approval from Changi Airport Group for in-house design of Singapore's 1st helicopter cum fixed wing mixed-use compact parking operations within Seletar Airport, Singapore. This further innovates the original fixed-wing compact parking design approved 2 years ago.

WOA ramps up ground handling and flight support capabilities and handles it's first private jet arrival from a Japanese member.
May2013 ClubWOA members' lounge opens in Subang airport, Malaysia at in a shared facility collaboration with Sapura Aero Sdn Bhd and ESB Flying Club to foster closer collaborations with Subang-based general aviation community.

WOA appointed Area Sales Representative for TBM850 (world's fastest single-engine turboprop) for Southeast-Asia by Daher-Socata in France. The agreement was inked with the Senior Vice President of Daher-Socata Airplane Division over a VIP event at the Patrouille de France's (french air force aerobatic team) home base in Salon de Provence, France on occasion of the 60th anniversary airshow event participated by aerobatic teams from all over Europe.

WOA members' lounge and office in Seletar Airport, Singapore becomes location for ChannelNewsAsia's inaugural "LIVE" morning show telecast national-wide. WOA's members and staff invited to participate in first "LIVE" TV interview on Seletar's aviation heritage.

WOA appointed Piper Aircraft dealership for Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia and delivers South-East Asia's 1st ever and 2nd Piper Meridian turboprops within a span of 6 months to two WOA Malaysia members. Meng personally ferries both aircrafts from USA back to Malaysia via the Atlantic ocean.
