Modern Aircrafts

We have over 15 years of experience supplying aircraft to and working with flight schools in the region, worldwide ferry operations, and operational support for jet air operators. Through these experiences, we have frequently observed that freshly minted private pilots tend to struggle with advanced flight training or international flying operations due to their inability to operate effectively in a glass cockpit environment. . In addition, general aviation recreational pilots tend to fall behind on their proficiency in handling high performance aircraft over time, which increases risks in flight operations.

Therefore, here at WingsOverAsia, we have state-of-the-art Diamond DA20/DA40, Piper Archer DX, Cirrus SR22, and Diamond DA42/DA62 aircrafts in our fleet with modern G1000 glass cockpit avionics so that you can familiarise yourself with these modern aircrafts during your pilot flying course.

Professional Pilot Training for Recreational Pilots

Technology never stops evolving, and neither should we. Yet, many training organisations often avoid integrating new technologies into traditional safe flying techniques for financial reasons or aiding the faster graduation of student pilots. Today, regardless of whether you are flying professionally or recreationally, every pilot needs to be adequately trained. This allows you to be proficient in working in a modern professional cockpit and incorporate proven handling techniques to pilot your airplane effectively.

FAQs

  • PPL is regarded as a “recreational license”. It is a qualification that allows the holder to fly as pilot-in-command (PIC) on an aircraft in non-commercial operations without remuneration.

PPL allows you to fly on single engine land (SEL) aircraft in visual meteorological conditions (VMC) under Visual Flight Rules (VFR)

The Private Pilot License is the first step towards becoming any pilot.

  • The PPL training is designed for applicants without any previous flight experience who want to obtain the PPL(Airplane). It consists of both theoretical and practical training
. Theoretical preparation and practical training are done concurrently. The course is concluded by a written exam, an oral examination and a practical examination (Check Ride).

WOA Flying Club conducts PPL training based on syllabus from the below authorities:

    1) Singapore Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS)

    2) United States of America Federal Aviation Authority (FAA)

WOA focus on the importance of building good basic habits and strong foundation, so we provide course combining classroom, simulator and practical flight training. Flight lessons within the PPL course include mastering basic maneuvers and procedures required for students to fly the aircraft solo. Thereafter, they will proceed with navigation training and graduate from a general handling practical flight test to obtain their PPL.All Private Pilot training flights are conducted in some of the world' proven safe and advanced training aircraft. Our fleet consists of Diamond DA40, Cessna C172, Piper PA28 and Cirrus SR22.

  • WOA's PPL training syllabus are all part-time and customized to each individual needs. Ground school are usually a combination of theory lessons on a one-on-one basis with flight instructor and self-study. Exam structure varys slightly between a USA FAA PPL and Singapore CAAS PPL but the fundamentals and knowledge requirements are similar.

All training commences in Seletar Airport, Singapore which is an approved training location by the authorities. However, FAA PPL student pilots will complete their PPL training and final flight exam in selected flight schools of their choice in the USA.

The typical student's duration from first lesson to achieving readiness to take his/her flight exam is between 4 to 6 month. However, this is highly dependent on the schedule of the student and the amount of individual commitment and priority placed on the training.

To apply for the PPL flight test and, you will need to acquire a set of minimum theoretical knowledge and practical experience as defined by the authorities and pass the knowledge examinations and practical flight test administered by CAAS/FAA and meet all regulatory licensing requirements.
